It is Easter Monday.

We have proclaimed, sung, and raised the roof declaring "Christ is risen! Christ is risen indeed!"

That Christ is risen, having erased death from our worry lists, ought to give us a spring in our step every single day.

It ought to provide a feeling of hopeful buoyancy that lets us thumb our noses at each day's news round-up of chaos, because we know the end of the story,

Maybe it's only me, but I find it hard to feel perpetually hopeful these days.

With compassion, respect, and justice getting hurled in the opposite direction of heaven, hope doesn't make a lot of sense.
